I am a partner in a yarn store in Southern California -- Hands on Knitting Center in Rendlans -- and we were struggling to find a source for ceramic yarn bowls. On a long drive from Colorado I came up with the idea of a felted yarn bowl (really quite obvious) and designed it on the trip.
The bowls are really fun to make and very easy. You do need some basic skills. After the first bowl you should be able to crank theses out in 2 to 3 hours. They are fabulous gifts for other knitters or crocheters. The small bowl will hold most skeins of yarn. If you knit large projects you might want to check out the large bowl pattern.
I do include good felting instructions.
3 sts and 4.5 rows equals 1 inch, stockinette st in the round.

I am an avid knitter and designer. I love being a partner in a yarn shop because I find constant sources of inspiration from customers and when teaching classes.
In addition to knitting I am a runner. I have completed over 15 Half Marathons and 1 full --it was hard!
My husband and two dogs and I travel a ton. I always try to make it in to others shops and fiber festivals. Knitting is indeed ...
