Skywalker is a semi-circular shawl, worked from the top down. You start with 9 stitches picked up around a garter stitch rectangle, and work out with increase rows loosely based on Elizabeth Zimmermann's Pi-Shawl formula.
Lace patterns are placed in between these increase rows. The stitches start out quite easy and get a bit more challenging as the project progresses and you are ready to learn new skills!

I live in upstate New York, where the sunny season is short, leaving plenty of time to be indoors knitting. Despite holding a degree in apparel design from Cornell University, I took to knitting years ago and I havent looked back.
Currently, Im enamored with lace and incorporating beads into knitted jewelry, so most of my designs lean in this direction. I travel often to teach these techniques and more at workshops around the country and online with Craftsy.
I have a line of knitting kits, self-publish patterns and run mystery knit-alongs multiple times a year. You can find some of these designs in my book, Knockout Knits.
When Im not designing or knitting, Im gardening, whipping up yummy feasts with my family and taking time to play! Recently, Ive developed a healthy addiction to yoga and Im determined to master a tripod headstand and handstand!
