Pattern Description:

This pattern was written for Unplanned Peacock Studio's Yarn & Fiber Club 2013. Last year's theme was Fairy tales. This pattern was inspired by the Brother's Grimm German tale "The Six Swans"

The six stitch cables represent each of the swans in the story. The Kinky Sock represents the cloudy sunset they are flying through.

12 stitches x 8 rounds in cable/lace pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • up to 8" hand circumference


  • 400 yards fingering weight yarn
  • US size 3 9" or 12" circular needle
  • US size 3 double pointed needles (set of 4)
  • 3 stitch markers (one in a contrast color)
  • cable needle
  • darning needle

Suggested yarn:

400 yards of Fingering weight
