Basic Skills Necessary:

  • purl
  • decrease

Pattern Description:

These are super easy to knit square slippers available in two sizes and can be knit in either sock or DK weight yarn.

The slippers are knit flat in garter stitch with a few decreases to form the toe and are seamed to finish. Slippers are a great way to use up yarn leftover from projects and are great to make to go with a hat or cardigan as a gift.

Gauge:

Sock Weight Version: 6.5 stitches and 12 rows per inch.

DK Weight Version: 5.5 stitches and 10 rows per inch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sock Weight Version: Size 0-3 months (2.75 inches long unstretched) Shown in stripes.
  • DK Weight Version: Size 3-6 months (3.25 inches long unstretched) Shown in gray and tweed versions.

Materials:

  • 40-50 yards in sock or DK weight yarn
  • DK Weight Version: US #4/3.5 mm needles
  • Sock Weight Version: US #1/2.25 mm needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle to weave in ends

Suggested yarn:

50 yards of Sport weight
