Pattern Description:

The textured patterning is created with simply knits and purls in these warm mitts knit flat on 2 needles. To top of your mitts for a full mitten, stitches are picked up along the edges and worked in the round to the tip of the thumb and hand. Instructions are given in both the line-by-line written method and charts. You choose whichever method you prefer.

A tutorial complete with sequenced photos is included to walk you through the unique thumb gusset shaping.


6.5 sts = 1" over stockinette stitch.


  • 200 yards worsted weight yarn, Sample knit in Cascade 220 (100% wool) Color # 9338 1 pair US Size 4 (3.5mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge 1 set US Size 4 (3.5mm) double point needles for mittens only

200 yards of Worsted weight
