This hat is styled for folks who are out and about in the deep cold -
This hat will keep you warm no matter what weather comes your way. In the Arctic you might want to add a wind proof outer layer but for most of Canada, the lower forty eight and other like climes, this hat will more than suffice.
You ears and the rest of your head will be very happy when the mercury drops. The gentle 'ribbing' along the hatband that covers the ears will snug just enough to keep you, oh so deliciously warm.
5 stitches and 6 rows to an inch in stockinette
350 yards of Worsted weight

I design in yarn and write Knitting patterns. Many, many years ago, I was taught by my maternal Irish grandmother to knit. She was not well off and did not have a lot to share so she shared her knowledge of knitting. Then came the Girl Scouts, my troop leaders pushed me to knit more seriously but still it was just flat work. I have been knitting off and on since but was never really satisfied with my product. Then a few years ago I discovered **Knitting Haven,** a lovely little corner of the internet where I was encouraged to further flourish my needles.
There are some great ladies on that webpage. :-D Thanks Holly, no really, thank you.
My books and patterns are available both here and on Amazon through this link;
I try to keep the my pattern prices of as low as is realistic because, as a knitter, I know I would much rather spend my precious funds on lots of lovely yarns. Those patterns that took me great mental gymnastics and much time ripping out, rethinking and redoing, will cost a bit more but for the most part, I think you find my patterns fairly priced.
Feel free to contact me through Craftsy or on my author's page on Facebook to learn what's new, "Ann C, Cooney, author." I love hearing from my fellow knitters. I will try to resolve any confusion I may cause with typos or temporary lapses of sanity ;-) during my writing out of patterns. Feel free to contact me on Facebook with any issues; https://www.facebook.com/NancyOBrienACC.
Keep knitting and be happy!
