These socks were inspired by the great spider, Shelob, and her web-filled lair as described in the Lord of the Rings series.
The web cleverly encases your feet and legs, entwining around your calves and soles. The top-down design and easy to follow charts make this pattern straight forward and easy to knit. There are four pages of color pictures, charts and instructions.
Bonus: Included in the pattern are suggestions for modifications for fitting the high-instep foot.
Different sizes can be achieved using different needle sizes, and differing weights of yarn.
36 sts x 42 rows = 4"x4" over colorwork

Maggie is intrigued by all things colorful, cabled and unusual. Also a huge fan of JRR Tolkien and his writings, including the Lord of the Rings, she uses his work as inspiration for her knitting designs. She loves Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, costume dramas, and can often be found creating & wearing period outfits or making lemon meringue pies.
