This shawl was inspired by the character Anne Elliot in Persuasion (Jane Austen). The soft wave pattern signifies her hopes of gentle seas and the stair steps are for Anne's continuing love for Frederick. The shawl is a secret because her family and friends would not notice any of the subtleties of the shawl or catch an ounce of its meaning.

I got started crafting as a child when my grandmother taught me to crochet. I then learned to sew from my mother. I now have learned to knit, weave and spin.
