Pattern Description:

Here is a pattern to make your favourite variegated yarn sparkle!

It comes in three versions, all in one pattern - the choice is yours.

The stitch patterns add a lot of elasticity to the glove for a comfortable fit. They are also quite thick and dense for extra warmth. The cross stitch necessary for the main stitch pattern is described step by step, with illustrations.

This pattern provides detailed instructions (15 pages) with illustrations.

Stocking Stitch: 30sts = 10cm / 4"
Schiaparelli Pattern: 34sts = 10 cm / 4"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Women's Medium [Men's Medium], for Glove/Mitten circumference above thumb: 19cm / 7 1/2" [21cm / 8 1/4"]. For S or L sizes, change tension as outlined in pattern.

  • 1 skein (100g - 420m) variegated yarn such as Seascape Sock Yarn from Calana Crafts
  • 2.5mm (US size 1 1/2) set of five dpn's (or any other needles that knit to the right tension, and can be used for circular knitting)
  • 2.25mm (US size 1) set of five dpn's (or 0.25mm smaller than needle size you use as main needle)
  • 2 stitch markers (alternatively, if you work with dpn's, you can mark a place with a change of needle)
