Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round

Pattern Description:

Sea breeze is a beanie with everything I can think of when I think of the sea.

It has a two color ribbing and is followed by 7 different little border patterns, including a cute wave or Greek like little pattern, starfish, anchors, two slighly different sea shells, tiny sea horses, cute little fish and a bubble peere. At the top is a tiny starfish/star.

Due to the different bands it won(tm)t get boring to knit it as every border pattern is only repeated once around the beanie.

And because of the use of only two colors it(tm)s also suitable for stranded knitting beginners (no color changes).

For bigger sizes go up one or two needle sizes and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.

I knitted it completely in 4-ply sock yarn in off-white and medium blue.
I chose Merino sock yarn so it(tm)s light but warm and fits in any jacket pocket due to its compact size.

Enjoy and happy sea breeze knitting!
