This easy hat pattern was cooked up when I found four scrap balls of Malabrigo Worsted in my yarn trunk that looked strikingly like scoops of ice cream. The scrap balls were too small to make any one item with, but too big to just throw away!
The hat is knit on large needles so the hat is loose and slouchy, and I added a giant pom-pom for some extra fun! If you have some worsted weight yarn scrap balls that are taking up precious stash space and a cold head, give Scoops a try!
Skills necessary to make this pattern:
-Knitting in the round
-Making a pom-pom
I made rigged a 4-inch pom-pom maker out of cardboard, but if you got something a bit classier go for it! :)
4 stitches in 1 inch

Well, I am a 23 year old avid knitter. I am currently working on my pharmacy degree which lends itself to stress knitting quite well.
The majority of my knits are hats, but I have also knit scarves, shawls, cowls, gloves, socks, toys, and one or two blankets. I haven’t knit a grown up, fitted garment yet, but I maybe I’ll tackle that when I graduate an eternity from now.

I love terrible movies, loose-leaf tea, sushi, and my incredible boyfriend who models all the guy hats I make despite his distaste for being photographed.
