Hat

Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • simple lace
  • knitting in the round
  • keeping accurate stitch count

Pattern Description:

Simple lace pattern knit on larger needles than the dk-weight yarn requires for a lacy, open look. Usually just one 50g ball of dk weight yarn is all it takes!

Block it firmly to give it a nice shape and show off the eyelets? I blocked mine on a soccer ball. Worked like a charm.

I?ll say it again-- this hat?s shape is greatly improved by BLOCKING! Blocking is your friend!

Gauge:

4.25 sts = 1 inch in Stockinette stitch BEFORE blocking

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • one size fits most. Brim is fairly stretchy, so if you have a small head use a smaller needle for ribbing.

Materials:

  • 130-150 yards DK weight yarn- one 50g ball
  • size 5 US 16" circular needle
  • size 10 US 16" or 24" circular needle
  • size 10 US double pointed needles

You Will Also Need:

  • locking stitch markers
  • row counter
  • tapestry needle
