Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit three together - K3tog

Pattern Description:

My inspiration for this design came from the pastoral intern at my church who wore a simple thin ribbed knit scarf one Sunday and refused to take it off inside the 108 year old building with intermittent heat. I thought this would look smashing on her and as an indoor/outdoor piece.

Also it's one skein and not too difficult, my favorite recipe for gifts.

5 stitches = 1" (2.5 cm) and 7 rows = 1" in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sizes: one size, finished scarf is 24" (60 cm)

  • Yarn: Worsted weight, 189 yards. Berroco Flicker (87% Baby Alpaca, 8% Acrylique, 5% Other fibers) (shown in photo)
  • Needles: US Size 8 (5.0mm)

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle.

Started seriously knitting back in college and have done it on and off over the years. Came back to it in full force in 2004, learned to knit socks in 2007, became a knitting teacher in 2007, and started designing in 2010.

About designing: I consider hand knits as art for the body. Each piece should be beautiful, and unique for the wearer.
