Steampunk Spats
What is a spat? Put simply, spats are a type of shoe accessory worn over top your shoes and under your pant leg. But more than that, they are a shoe ornament. This pattern requires a little yarn for a pattern with a lot of detail. Wear your spats with pride, ladies!
Size: 7"wide x 7"long, not including ruffle
Materials
- 3 50G balls of Berroco Boho, 98yds each. OR 220 yds of aran weight yarn
- size 8 knitting needles, circular works best for these since you will have to be going
around a corner. I suggest a 24" length.
- 10 buttons, 1/2"- 3/4" in size
- 1/2 yard of 1/2" wide elastic in matching color.
Gauge
5 sts, 7 rows= 1" in stockinet stitch (knit one row, purl one row) on #7 needles.
Note: Since Berroco Boho is a self striping yarn, you may want to start with the same
color so your spats are matching.
5 sts, 7 rows= 1"
220 yards of Worsted weight
