Root River, named for the Root River & Parkway in Milwaukee County, works up quickly, with interesting, yet simple lace. The resulting pattern winds gently like a lazy stroll along the parkway.

Root River Cowl is worked in the round and perfect for trying out lace, or for more seasoned knitters who are looking for a quick, yet interesting knit.


9 stitches and 14 rows = 2 inches in stockinette in the round


  • US 9 - 5.5 mm 16" needles
  • Yardage 150 - 175 yards (137 - 160 m) of worsted weight yarn
