  • You should be able to work in the round and to follow written directions and a simple colourwork chart.

Pattern Description:

The pattern was inspired by the Victorian Regard ring where the word regard is spelled out as an acrostic in jewels - ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and diamond. A Regard ring would be given to a sweetheart to show that she was held in high esteem.
The design starts with a lacy cuff, then a slipstitch pattern for the jewels. Around the toe is a little bit of colourwork to represent the scrolled gold of an old Regard ring.

Gauge:

34 stitches and 46 rows to 10cm (4 inches) measured over plain fabric

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • from ribbing to heel 27 cm and from heel to toe 24/25/26 cm.

Materials:

  • 1 set four dpns size 12/ 2.75mm/ US size 2

Suggested yarn:

500 meters of Fingering weight
