Does the world really need yet another knitted hat pattern?
Probably not ?but when the Doctor recently asked me to
knit him a hat, I knew he had to have something original. Figuring it would be almost as easy to design a new pattern as it would be to find one we both liked, I designed this quick topper around a cable pattern I found in Vogue?s Stitchionary. The optional rolled brim makes this hat wearable by both guys and gals, and also implements an interesting new way to decrease ribbing that keeps the ribs intact all the way to the crown.
36 sts/30 rows = 4 inches in unstretched k2, p2 rib
