Pattern Description:

The Red Dragon Shawl is a heart-shape shawl based on the painting The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun by William Blake. The pattern features a unique cast on to allow for a cabled spine. The border pattern mimics the dragon's scales, transforming the shawl into a dramatically detailed wingspan. Brightly colored hand dyed yarns will work great with this versatile design. And the best part, there's no specific gauge required to complete the pattern.

You Will Also Need:

  • Size US 5 - 29" Circular Knitting Needle

800 yards of Fingering weight

My name is Melina and I am the owner of an independent local yarn shop called Midwest Yarn. I enjoy knitting, crochet, spinning, pattern design, and scrapbooking.

I got started with knitting by teaching myself around age 8 or 9. Since then I've gotten into designing knit items for babies and children and owning my fun little yarn shop (which I also use as a studio).
