Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • k2tog

Pattern Description:

If you have any experience with knitting and already know how to knit in the round or want to learn, this is a great project to complete.

The brim is knit in rows using the Garter stitch; the beret is then knit in the round creating the Stockinette stitch.

The yarn is doubled throughout.


10 stitches and 15 rounds = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Brim circumference: 20 inches
  • Beret circumference (at widest): 28-30 inches (unblocked/blocked)
  • Height: 9 inches


  • 2 skeins Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Weight 100% Acrylic yarn
  • US Size 11 16-inch or longer circular needle and DPNs

You Will Also Need:

  • Blunt needle
  • Optional Embellishment

220 yards of Chunky weight
