This lacy triangular shawl was inspired by poppy buds and flowers. It is a charted and written lace design, with lace knitting on every other row. It can be knit in any weight of yarn from lace weight to worsted (worsted weight sample pictured).
The shawl is knit from the top centre out, beginning with a tab cast on. The pattern includes stitches like yo, single decreases (ssk, k2tog) and double decreases (sssk, k3tog, s2kp), triple decreases (ssssk, k4tog).
The shawl takes from 550 - 1000 yards of yarn, depending on the gauge and the yarn weight.
Instructions are both written and charted.
loose enough to make the lace visible when the shawl is blocked
I'm a lifelong crafter, but settled on knitting in university when I wanted sweaters but couldn't afford to buy them. My first knitting love was lace. I'm sure I'll keep returning to lace, but there are so many other fun techniques to explore as well!
