Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cable cast on
  • Yarnovers
  • Decreases such as k2tog and ssk
  • Weaving in ends
  • Light blocking

Pattern Description:

Just as Maia looks for inspiration in her environment to color her beautiful Tactile Fiber Arts yarn, I find inspiration in architecture and other man-made creations surrounding us. The ziggity lines in this simple cowl remind me of brickwork often found in older parts of cities, parquet flooring, and garden pathways.


20 sts over 4 inches (10 cm x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Blocked piece is approximately 9 3/4 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches wide (24.75 x29.2 cm)


  • Approximately 200 yards of Tactile Fiber Arts Diablo DK weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • One 16" circular US 8 / 5mm needle or size to obtain gauge
  • Blunt tapestry needle to weave in ends
  • 1 stitch marker
