About the designer

I've been crafting since forever, knitting fanatically since about 2006 and designing since 2008. When not knitting, I teach university students about primates and play with my horses.

Pisum Socks

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • increases, decreases, picking up stitches, simple cable

Pattern Description:

Pisum, the scientific name for peas. Between teaching basic Mendelian genetics to undergraduates and planting some on my patio, peas have been on my mind a bit. Personally, I think they're lovely plants (As well as functional!) - not to mention good to discuss for educational reasons! So I decided the last sock pattern in this collection would be named after peas. :)

This pattern is top-down and includes both written and charted instructions. It comes with instructions for two sizes, but I found mine (64-st size) were quite stretchy.

  • Fingering weight sock yarn (about 300 yards)

300 yards of Fingering weight
