Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit & purl patterning

Pattern Description:

This lovely scarf has everything going for it: the strong geometric pointed pattern (modeled on the Pinnacles stitch pattern) lends movement and grace, the wool/bamboo blend gives warmth and silkiness, and the length means it works in nearly any climate.

Pinnacles is made on US 6 (4mm) needles from three skeins of Classic Elite Wool Bam Boo, a renewable fiber blend that has the warmth of wool but the smoothness of bamboo. It is constructed from the center out to points in pattern for a polished, professional look. The relatively simple stitch pattern is balanced by the slightly advanced construction techniques to make a project that is appropriate for intermediate through advanced knitters.

12 stitches and 16 rows = 2 inches in Pinnacle stitch (expanded)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 77" by 3" (192 by 7cm) [unblocked]. Blocking will make scarf wider and shorter.

  • 300 - 350 yards (274 - 320 m) DK weight yarn
  • US6 (4mm) knitting needles
  • Waste yarn for provisional cast on
  • Yarn needle
