peregrine Shawlette

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Yarn overs

Pattern Description:

The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest bird, and in fact the fastest animal on the planet, when in its hunting dive, called the stoop. It soars to a great height, then dives steeply at speeds of over 200 mph. While we can't guarantee quite that speed, it's safe to say this shawlette worked in chunky weight yarn does knit up incredibly quickly. It's a great last-minute knit for anyone on your list.

Gauge:

10.5-13 sts = 4 inches in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking. Gauge is not critical for this project.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size fits most. As shown with two pattern repeats, and depending on gauge and blocking, approximately 62" wide from tip to tip and 19" deep at center.

Materials:

  • US #10.5/6.5mm (or size to get desired gauge).

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers

Suggested yarn:

225 yards of Chunky weight
