Pattern Description:

Where I live, mittens are needed from October through April, and occasionally brought back out again for a surprise May snowstorm. My little ones seem to be picky about what mittens they will be willing to wear, to the point of stubbornly ending up with cold, cold little hands. These stranded-knit penguins are so appealing that my youngest doesn't want to take them off even inside!

I was taught from childhood that not knowing how to make something is no reason why you can't find out how to make something.

This lesson has served me well, particularly when I taught myself to crochet and to knit several years ago. I now design as well, and enjoy the designing process as much as I enjoy the making process.
