This show-stopping little hat looks like a birthday cake to me - and you can't help but giggle looking at it on a tiny noggin. It is truly like knitting a party for your head!
This pattern was developed for my friend, Barry Klein, owner of Trendsetter yarn when they introduced their fun Cha-cha ruffle ribbon yarn. The pattern first appeared in my book, "Welcoming Home Baby the Handcrafted Way", (c)Tricia Drake 2011, winner of the 2012 Benjamin Franklin Award for Best Craft/Hobby/How-To book with over 24,000 copies sold.
This hat is an easy, flat knit on US 10s. And if you need any help, just e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Customizable kits as well as the needles for this project are available at www.TrickyKnits,com. Or, you can just purchase what you need by the yard!

I'm a mother of 7 children, ages 14 down to 2, living in Nashville with my sexy geek of a husband. I've been knitting since I was a teenager, and designing newborn photography props full-time since 2008. My first book of patterns, "Welcoming Home Baby the Handcrafted Way", was released in March 2011. Knit it chunky! ;)
