Pattern Description:

A layered pair of fingerless mitts with a classic, feminine flare.

Designed to match the Paper Lanterns Cowl these mitts were inspired by making a wish and sending it down stream or off into the atmosphere.

These fingerless mitts can be worn together for extra warmth, or each set can be worn on their own.

The inner mitt is knit in the round with curved palm increases for fitted warmth. The lace mitt is knit flat and seamed together to form the thumb opening.

Yarn requirements:
-100-180 yards [92-165m] of sport weight yarn in main color for inner mitt.
-75-125 yards 6[9-115m] of sport weight yarn in contrasting color for outer lace mitt.

Sizes:
Women's S (M, L), to fit 6-61?2 (61?2 -7, 7-71?2) inches [15-16.5 (16.5-18, 18-19)] cm around 1st set of knuckles or top of palm.

Gauge:

7 stitches and 10 rows = 1 inch in stockinette in the round

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • three sizes, women's small, medium and large

Materials:

  • US #3 needles for knitting in the round and flat
  • sport/DK weight yarn in a main color and contrasting color

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers
  • waste yarn or stitch holders
  • darning needle for seaming outer mitt

Suggested yarn:

250 yards of Sport weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Quince & Co Chickadee 100% wool; Luna Grey Orion 100% superwash wool
