Pattern Description:

This will be a surprise for another work collegue. I created it after I had asked her about her favorite animal and favorite color. Panda and violet was the answer. Here is the result.
A band of pandas is all around the body of the beanie. The peerie consists of white paw prints. And seven panda faces are at the top with a nice star-like finish.
You can see it in the pictures.
You can use any 4-ply sock yarn you have in your stash as the brands I used are probably not available in your country.

Knitting gauge: 1 x 1 inch: 7 stitches and 8 rows.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • about 54 - 56 cm head circumreference
  • for bigger heads use needle size 3.5 mm and or use 5-ply yarn


  • 20 g of light violet 4-ply sock yarn , 35 g of dark violet 4-ply sock yarn, 35 g of off-white 4-ply sock yarn, 20 g of black 4-ply sock yarn
  • Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm and 5 double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Lana Grossa soya, Buttinette sckli, Opal uni solid


dark violet, light violet, black, off-white
