Novelty baby shower gifts, photography props, hospital nursery donations.

I have a newborn granddaughter and wanted a photography prop (the feminine hat) and then I also wanted an autumn-looking hat for her. Then I went a little nuts and created the patriotic and John Deere green hats for the heck of it!

If you are a beginning knitter, this is the pattern for you! It uses basically just a knit stitch (in the round) to create the stockinette stitch (no purl rows).

Gauge:

3.5 sts and 5.5 rounds = 1 inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Circumference - 14.25 inches
  • Length - approx 5 inches rolled, 6.25 inches unrolled

Materials:

  • Sportweight or Baby Sportweight Yarn - amount varies
  • U.S. Size 9 16-inch circular needle
  • U.S. Size 9 Double-pointed needles
