Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round for the cowl
  • yo's and ssk's for the scarf

Pattern Description:

Just in time for holiday knit-gifting: You can make one of each or two of one - it's up to you!

The projects use a total of about 320 yards of yarn (a skein of Big Trend from Marks & Kattens will give you just enough) or 160 yards each.

The half-linen stitch cowl (7-1/2" x 22" circumference) sits up near the neck with enough room for breathing! The bias-stitched scarf (6" x 42") is enough to wear flat or wrapped around your neck like a cowl.

Either way, you'll have as much fun wearing these as you did knitting them!

20sts x 36 rnds in half-linen stitch (done in the round)
20sts x 24 rows in stockinette (worked flat)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • cowl: 7-1/2" x 22"; scarf: 6" x 42"

  • approx 320 yards (160 for each project) yards of light worsted weight, self-striping; samples used one skein of Big Trend
  • US #7 circs

Suggested yarn:

320 yards of Worsted weight

Marks & Kattens Big Trend
