We sincerely apologize and regret that we will no longer be able to sell through this wonderful community.
On the Moor is a Faroese-style shawl that incorporates shoulder shaping and a tapered back panel for a unique fit. The spectacular double-loop closed-ring cable on the centre-back panel holds pride of place; the wings of the shawl are worked in a lattice pattern to complement, but not overshadow, the cable centrepiece. The rope-cable border that edges the entire shawl provides the perfect finishing touch.
The shawl begins at the neck with a provisionally cast-on cabled tab; stitches are then picked up along one long edge of the tab and from the cast-on edge; both 'wings' are increased regularly while the slightly tapered centre-back cable panel is increased at a reduced rate; extra increases are worked along the shoulder lines for the unique Faroese shaping. The cabled front edges are continued around the bottom of the shawl; corners are turned using short rows; the final edging stitches are joined using a 3-Needle Bind Off.
Pattern is charted; written instructions for charts are provided.
This pattern consists of 24 pages. Charts are on pp 7 - 15; written directions for charts are on pp 17 - 23. The pdf size is 3.8MB.
Written instructions for the Provisional Cast On and 3-Needle Bind Off are included. Internet links are provided for 'cabling without a cable needle' and the 3-Needle Bind Off.

NOTICE: With the impending change to the European Union (EU) VAT (value added tax) rules coming into effect on January 1, 2015, that require taxes to be collected according to the Buyer's location, I have no option but to close my Craftsy store. The burden of registering, collecting and tracking tax rates and buyer locations for 28 different EU countries is just not feasible. I sincerely apologize to my loyal Craftsy followers - I really am sorry that I have no other choice. My patterns will remain available on Ravelry.com which has arranged to re-route EU sales to the nice folks at LoveKnitting.com which is VAT registered. Thank you everyone for your wonderful support! I will miss you. ~ Luise
