This shawl has been described by knitters as "texture love." It's elegantly simple and uses just knits and purls to have a big impact.
This pattern is for a square shawl with an open neck that can be worked in any DK or worsted yarn and knit to any desired size. It's a very adaptable, personalize-able pattern, so it's hard to say exactly how much yarn you will want to use.
Two skeins of tosh dk is more than enough for a shawl with a 15" center spine down the back. Other weights of yarn and gauges may require different yardage.
20 sts = 4"/10 cm in Stockinette Stitch; exact gauge is not crucial
