I wanted to design a hat with universal appeal to both knitters and wearers. The motifs come together beautifully from every angle, yet the chart work is easy to follow, with simple, symmetrical shaping, so experts will appreciate its design sense, yet Fair Isle novices will have fun with it, too. The design is unisex, and instructions are given for adjusting your gauge to fit a wide range of heads (youth through adult XL), so it should suit most everyone on your gift list.
As always, if you ever have any questions, my contact info is included and you're always welcome to drop me a line.
Gauge: In stockinette stitch, with colorwork
Youth 20 stitches over 4" / 10cm
Adult 18 stitches over 4" / 10cm
XL Adult 16 stitches over 4" / 10cm
160 yards of Worsted weight

Hi! My name is Mary Ann Stephens. My mother taught me how to knit when I was 5. I've always loved knitting, but I never became madly obsessed with it until I made a little Norwegian sweater while expecting my first son. After my third son was born, rather than return to my very family-UNfriendly Wall St. career, I started Kidsknits.com, which specializes in Norwegian and Fair Isle knitting. If you ever need to contact me with any questions, you can reach me through my retail website, Kidsknits.com, or my blog, twostrands.wordpress.come, PM me through Ravelry (I'm "twostrands") or email me directly at mas AT kidsknits DOT com.
Thanks for visiting and happy knitting!
