This unisex scarflette is knit in moss stitch (US knitting terms - seed stitch) with a garter stitch edging and a keyhole feature to keep the scarflette in place. The centre section is gently shaped so it can be folded over the throat for added warmth.
The pattern is written for 8ply (DK) yarns, however it could be easily adjusted for 10ply (Worsted Weight) yarns that use the same needle size for tension/gauge.
British knitting terms are used in the pattern, any American knitting terms that are different are supplied in the abbreviations section of the pattern.
17 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in moss stitch
My grandmother taught me to knit when I was 8, some 40 years later I still love it.
There's just something about being able to use yarn and needles, to create something beautiful and useful.
