Pattern Description:
Fingerless summer mittens inspired by Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff's "Mondnacht" (Moonlit Night) poem. The mercerised cotton thread makes this delicate lacey pattern shimmer like a carpet of blossoms in the moonlight.
The pattern provides detailed instructions (11 pages), and is both written and charted.
Gauge:
32 sts, 52 rnds = 10x10cm / 4x4" in st st
47 sts, 48 rnds = 10x10cm / 4x4" in cuff ribbing
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Women's XS/S [M/L, XL/XXL] to fit hands with up to 18 [20, 22.5]cm / 7 1/8 [7 7/8, 8 7/8]" circumference above thumb
Materials:
- 50g (265m/290 yards) of Eldorado by Coats, colour #4317, or similar plied cotton thread in size 10-20, or lace weight wool
- 2.25mm / US size 1 dpns, or any other needles that can be used for knitting in the round
- tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Apart from the very few designs in which the two gloves/mittens are knitted exactly identical, my patterns always include instructions for both the right and the left hand glove/mitten - no struggle over creating a mirror image of the first glove! All the thinking has been done for you!
