About the designer

I have become an addicted knitter after knitting my whole life. My mentors include Cat Bordhi, Elizabeth Zimmerman (books), Judy Becker, and Lucy Neatby. I would rather knit that do anything else.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cat Bordhi's Moebius Cast Of
  • Jeny's Surprizingly Stretchy Bind Off

Pattern Description:

I created this little Moebius Necklette to add color to my solid tee shirts. It also dresses up a simple neckline. During December, I taught a class at my LYS and the students' family and friends would "call dibs" for the necklette before it was off the needles. One addicted knitter had made 5 the week she tried this pattern. Once you master the cast on and bind off, this is a very quick knit. The necklette is very appealing in silk and linen fibers, and it really adds warmth when done in merino and alpaca. I also layer 2-3 together for another interesting look. The pattern can be altered to any length by increasing the cast on in multiploes of two. This is also a stash buster, as so little yarn is required for the 80 stitch cast on.

Most yarns recommend a needle size. Use the largest number recommended, or go a little larger. For Sock Yarn, I used a 5, and for worsted, I used a 9, Make the fabric pleasing to you.

  • 50 gram skein of yarn any weight from sock weight to worsted
  • Size 5, 40" Circular needle

You Will Also Need:

  • yarn needle for tucking in the ends
