Pattern Description:

Mizutama (jap.) - polka dots

A fun triangular shawl can be that perfect accessory you need in Spring - bright color to go with the awakening of the nature and a great faux-polka dot print, only made up using lace. Instructions provide knitter with a choice of making it bottom up or top down. Both charted and written out instructions. Pick your preferable method and favorite color to work up your own polka dots!


20 sts and 28 rows = 4"/10cm over washed and blocked swatch worked in pattern on larger needle

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Wingspan 60"
  • Depth 21"


  • Koigu KPM (100% merino wool), 175 yds/ 50 gr; #1521; 3 skeins
  • OR 455 yds of any fingering weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • US 5 (3.75 mm) needle
  • US 6 (4 mm) needle
  • Tapestry needle
  • Blocking pins and wires
