My non knitting friend wanted a "poufy" hat to cover the large hair clip she always wears. My very slouchy version is big enough to cover her hair and clip with plenty of room to spare.
2 versions of the same hat, one slightly slouchy and one very slouchy.
A simple slip stitch pattern is used for the body of this hat worked in the round; easy to memorize and great for variegated yarns. The very slouchy hat is fuller and longer.
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations, and a stitch glossary.
Skill level: Advanced beginner.
This hat is worked from the bottom up.
22 sts = 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch
200 yards of DK weight
My design philosophy: My designs are a mixture of traditional and non-traditional elements. My patterns are easy to read and are often based on simple shapes and techniques that minimize complicated finishing. The majority of my patterns are accessories so sizing is often not critical. My love of texture and color shows up in my ability to mix yarns and to match yarns to particular styles.
