Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, lldd (left-leaning double decrease), rldd (right-leaning double decrease), cddv(centered double decrease)

Pattern Description:

The shawl is knit side to side and can easily be made larger by adding repeats.

This design is suitable for the beginning lace knitter who is ready to take on a more adventurous project.

The pattern is best suited to solid color or tonal yarns. Variegated yarns will detract from the geometric lace motif. A gradient or slow-striping yarn should work well.

Gauge:

5.75 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 51 in (130cm) wide (tip to tip)
  • 17.5in (45cm) deep (neck to point in back)

Materials:

  • one skein (400-450yds) fingering weight yarn
  • US #6 (4mm) 24 inch circular needle
