Medieval gone modern

from Slipknot Designs
(6) Name: 'Knitting : Medieval gone modern
Medieval gone modern
Medieval gone modern

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic knowledge of knitting in the round
  • basic cable knitting knowledge

Pattern Description:

This hat was inspired by a custom order I got in.
It was supposed to be something inspired by medieval hats, but workable in every day modern life. I came up with this and it was a hit.
There are two versions for this hat. The first is the original, whimsical, alchemists/wizard style, pointy version, as in the pictures. There is also a more sophisticated, rounded, slouchy version, that not even your most hardcore hipster would mind being seen in.. So if you don't like the point, you don't have to have it.
From beard to bard, this hat works!

Super easy and fast knit.
The cabled brim gives wonderful texture and the buttons and button tabs add visual interest to an otherwise very simple hat.

(also: This alchemist/wizard inspired hat comes in handy when you have a run-in with an ork...)
