Inspired by the tam worn by Mary Lennox in the 1993 movie of "The Secret Garden", this easy-knit hat looks stunning on children and adults alike.

Made in a bulky-weight yarn, it knits up quickly, and makes a great gift.

Sized for heads from 16" around (Small) to 23" around (Large).

TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!! I knit tightly, so you may need to adjust your tension or needle size to match.

Note: For the medium size, you may need to undo your gauge swatch to finish the hat. If you would rather not, buy two balls for that size, as well.

Gauge:

15.5 sts and 22 rws = 4" over stockinette stitches with larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Small (16-18" head)
Medium (up to 20" head)
Large (up to 23" head)

Materials:

1-2 balls chunky weight yarn (such as Bernat Softee Chunky)
5.0 mm (US 8) double-pointed needles
6.5 mm (US 10 1/2) double-pointed needles
Opt. 6.5 mm circular needle (no longer than 29")
