Pattern Description:

This hat is a lightweight cotton hat. Wear your Mary Anne hat to look "cool" or wear it on a cool summer night..or even a bad hair day and look beautiful! It is flattering on any age! It is also an excellent hat to knit up for a chemo hat donation, as the wide brim fits the head like a soft hug!

Two brim versions are offered, one being a "Pink Plaid Illusion" design.

I named this hat in honor of my maternal grandmother, Mary Anne, who immigrated here from Nova Scotia many years ago.

5 sts. & 7 rows using a size 5 needle in stockinette stitch with DK weight yarn.

  • Three sizes: small (20-21.5"), medium (21.5-22.5"), large (23-24").

  • 200 yds of a DK weight cotton yarn and 25 yds of a cotton/elastic blend yarn, stitch markers, size 3 -16" circ. needle and size 5-16" circ. needle, optional large decorative button
