Mardi Gras Shawlette

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, ssk, p2tog
  • short rows
  • pick up stitches

Pattern Description:

I've been wanting to make a design that would use up some small amounts of yarn which coordinated well with each other. This shawlette was the outcome. I love shawlettes because they will keep not only my neck but also my shoulder warm. Should we call these "shoulder scarves"?

The edging is worked lengthwise and the body of the shawlette is picked up across the top edge.

  • Edging worked with approx 125 yards fingering wt yarn
  • Contrasting colors (2) each require approx 70 yards fingering wt yarn
