Pattern Description:

Mahbhta is a nearly reversible scarf pattern.

"Mahbhta is Sanskrit and Pli for "great element." In Buddhism, the "four great elements" are earth, water, fire and air. Hinduism adds a fifth "great" or "gross" element: akasha, the equivalent of what Aristotle called aether." ~Quoted from Wikipedia

Gauge:

24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in stockinette st, UNBLOCKED

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 7.5" wide and 60" long, BLOCKED

Materials:

  • 300-400 yards DK weight yarn
  • US #6 [4mm] needles
