Inspired by the moon rising over the ocean waves, this fingering weight crescent shaped shawl is created with contrasting or textured stripes that gradually fade and grow, ending with a knitted on 3" (7.5cm) lace border.
Pattern includes both the two color version in stockinette stitch and the solid color with stripes worked in a reverse stockinette for texture.
Cast on only 3 stitches, work from the top down, knit on the lace border, and there are only 14 stitches to bind off.
Directions are written and charted.
The nature of the pattern makes for endless possibilities with solid, variegated and color changing yarns.
19 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in blocked stockinette

Inspired by strong lines and solid, bold patterns. My designs tend to follow graphic lines, but have been known to jump randomly to the lacey, girly side for some diversion. You never know what will come up next!
