Pattern Description:

Loganberry is a very lacy crescent shawl with cable lace edging.

This crescent-shaped shawl begins with a strip of lace edging worked on only 19 to 23 sts with an 8-row repeat. The cabled lace stitch pattern suggests the slightly oblong shape and seeds of the loganberry. The short-rowed body of the shawl is an easy, very lacy one-row stitch pattern that works up in a jiffy.

Gauge:

Approximately 6 stitches and 4.5 rows = 1" (2.5 cm) over blocked cabled lace edging pattern
using smaller size needle

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

82" as measured along bottom edge; 65" top edge; 14" center back length; guidance for adjusting the size is included in the project instructions; if adjusting size, plan accordingly for more or less yarn

Materials:

325 yards (300 m) fingering weight yarn
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) or size needed for gauge; these can be short straight needles or any other suitable needles you prefer for knitting the narrow rows of lace edging
Size US 8 (5 mm) circular in 32" - 40" (80 - 100 cm) length for knitting the main body (note: a circular needle is used to comfortably hold the number of stitches needed; this garment is not knit in the round)
