Pattern Description:
I created this hat for a nephew who was undergoing brain surgery. This hat is about 39 inches long.
Band is a twisted rib knit, knit in stripes of any width as long as equal amount of the two colors are used so you don't run out of yarn. The twisted rib is a very stretchy band. If your head is larger than 21 inches, cast on more stitches. If your head is smaller than 18 inches, cast on fewer stithes but increase to 180 stitches for the pattern.
An alphabet is included if you would like to replace one of the rows with text.
Gauge:
36 stitches/4 inches
Materials:
- 2 skiens of two different colors of Cascade Heritage Silk sock yarn
- size 0-1 16 inch circular needles and double point needles
Suggested yarn:
850 yards of Fingering weight
