Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Work ribbing
  • Work decreases
  • Switch to dpns or add a second circular needle when circumference gets small

Pattern Description:

I love self-striping yarns like Kureyon, and thought it would be fun to play with stripes of different widths. I paired a very muted colorway (mostly neutrals like dark gray) with a bright one, and let the stripes do the work! This hat has a touch of whimsy for kids and teens but no reason why an adult with some sass couldn't wear it, either! If you've got odds and ends of worsted weight yarn lying around, you can mix different colors with a neutral to create a Frankenhat, too.
