Lindsay's Perfect Mitts

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, increase, decrease, knit on double-pointed needles in the round.

Pattern Description:

Lindsay told me one day that she was desperate. She wanted simple, fingerless mitts that were ribbed the whole way and that had a separate thumb gusset. Although they were probably out theresomewhere!she could not find any.

I told her I loved the idea and would design them.

When she made the first pair, she proclaimed them perfect. I had to admit that she had come up with a wonderful suggestion. Try them. I bet you will agree.

Not critical.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Hand size: 6-7" (S) 7-8" (M) 8-9" (L)

  • Double-pointed needles, U.S. size 5 (3.75mm). (Approx. 5.5 stitches per inch in stockinette. You know you won't do a gauge swatchbut fortunately the all-over ribbing will save you from ill fit.)

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle, stitch markers.
