If you know a little girl, you know she likes to dress up and imitate mommy. So, it seemed that coordinating purses with ruffles would be a great project for any knitter who knits for a little girl.
These bags start with a circular bottom. Then you knit the body in stockinette stitch. You will knit with two strands of yarn held together to create a sturdy fabric. The ruffles at the end are made by increasing the number of stitches at the end.
You decide whether you want to make them identical or switch the colors around for variety. Either way, a little girl's eyes will light up ! NOTE: Do not use super wash wool for felting.
14 stitches/ 4 inches and 20 rows/ 4 inches in stockinette stitch, with two strands of yarn (before felting.)
I am an independent knitting designer enjoying lots of knitting after retiring from practicing law. I love most kinds of knitting, and I teach knitting in the Sacramento area.
